EZ Sockets began in a 7,500 square foot warehouse in Springfield, New Jersey in April 1978, right after the worst winter the Northeast had seen in 20 years. Despite the record snow and bleak economic climate, they opened their first location and began to sell socket screws in alloy and stainless steel to the distributor market on the East Coast.

Their reputation for quality products, service and price spread quickly and the demand for their "great green metal-edged, boxes" grew. It grew so quickly that by February 1983, they relocated to a new 20,000 square foot warehouse, a stone's throw from their original location.
